Dear Vishal,
I would first of all like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the consultations, yesterday's one especially!!! It was a useful and fruitful one as I shall explain in a minute - your compassion, empathy, understanding and sense of humour make you a very charismatic consultant!!! You are doing a great job, not just in my case, Im sure, but will all the people who come to you in need!!! I really appreciate the way you dont beat about the bush, and say things as they are. It is a very similar approach to what Im used to, and find this very refreshing and at times very entertaining! Keep up the good work!
I have been attending the Ayurveda Retreat Centre in Reading for the past few months now. Originally, it was a curiosity that attracted me, now it is a conviction of the benefits of Ayurveda treatment which keeps me coming back!
Over the months Ayurveda treatment has improved my physical well-being significantly. It has strengthened and balanced the psychological and emotional aspects of my personality, as well as brought about an overall state of inner calm and strength which have created an increased ability to deal with life’s ups and downs!
I arrived on the first day not knowing what to expect, as I didn’t have any specific ‘big problem’ just lots of little ones! The treatment which has included various herbs, decoctions and a series of specialised messages has helped tremendously improve my digestive problems, recurring tension headaches and migraines and PMT on a physical level. On a physical level I am healthier, stronger and much more energised!
On a psychological, mental and emotional level– the specialised messages and the consultations afterwards helped deal with the root of my problems – rather than with just the symptoms. I am very grateful for this as I know that the effect will be deep and long lasting.
Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health, so it works on all levels of one’s being - the physical, psychological, emotional, mental and spiritual. It is believed, that all these aspects of one’s being are interrelated and that improving one aspect has a positive impact and affects all the other aspects…. Sometimes, certain subtle positive changes can occur spontaneously and without much effort, as a by product of other conscious changes, say in diet…. When this happened to me I was quite surprised as I was not expecting so many different things to change and heal at once!
Diet plays an important part in Ayurvedic medicine. It is very empowering to experience positive changes brought about in your being by following a diet which is best suited to your constitution or dosha. It has been my way of contributing towards my own healing, together with being committed to take the prescribed herbs at prescribed times. It makes me feel part of the healing process rather than just a body part waiting to be fixed!
The whole Ayurveda experience is like opening your eyes so that not just the eyes, but the whole body is able to see!!! I can say that the people around me have seen a difference in my whole demeanor…- physically, I look well…I feel well…- I am more confident and more self assured… . Overall, this has enabled me to move more towards the ‘me’ that I have been dreaming to be-(moving away from physical pain and towards emotional stability!!!) - Ms M.
