The word Reiki is Japanese meaning ‘Universal Energy’ and is a wonderful healing technique that channels this energy to where it is needed in your body to help restore your wellbeing. Reiki acts directly on all conditions as it heals, harmonises and balances you. You don’t need to have an illness or particular condition to feel the wonderful benefits – it is an enjoyable and relaxing experience for all. Reiki is a wonderful way to feel better naturally as you are enabling your body to heal itself and, since it is completely natural, there are no side effects.

What will happen during my Reiki treatment?

After a consultation to identify what you would like from your session, you will simply lie down (or sit in a chair) fully clothed and relax. The Reiki practitioner will gently place her hands in a sequence of positions on the body in a non-intrusive manner. If you’d rather not be touched, don’t worry; it is still as effective if her hands are kept slightly above the body.

People experience different things whilst having Reiki; you may feel hot or cold, or you may feel a slight tingling sensation. Many people become so relaxed they fall asleep! You may not, however, experience any such sensations at all but it does not matter as Reiki is a completely personal experience so will work in different ways for each person depending on what is needed by you as an individual.
