Panchakarma Detox Plan
Panchakarma is not just for those who suffer from a chronic illness or health concern, but also anyone who is keen to learn how Ayurvedic treatment therapy can help them achieve total wellbeing through a complex cleansing programme.
According to Ayurveda, failure to fully metabolise all that we ingest – whether it be food, emotions or sensory input – can lead to an inevitable build-up of toxins that will eventually pollute the body, mind and soul, leading to physical, mental and emotional ill-health. Panchakarma is therefore considered one of the ultimate mind-body detox plans.

Why Panchakarma Detox Works
Behind Ayurvedic treatment therapy is the key principle that good health is dependent upon our capability to fully metabolise the nutritional, emotional and sensory information that we ingest. When our digestive power, known as agni (fire), is robust we create healthy tissue, eliminate waste products efficiently and produce a subtle essence called ojas. Ojas, which may be envisioned as the inner-most sap of our psychophysiology, is the basis for clarity of perception, physical strength, and immunity. On the other hand, if our agni is weakened, digestion is incomplete. This accumulation of toxic residue is collectively known as ama.
The accumulation of toxins, or ama, in the system leads to obstructions in the flow of energy, information, and nourishment and is the basis of illness. Panchakarma – an ancient form of purification developed thousands of years ago in India – can be used to remove ama and excessive doshas. By cleansing and detoxifying the body via Panchakarma, the process helps to re-build the natural fire within the body (agni) which naturally burns ama from the body and prevents it from re-forming, and aids in digestion.
Panchakarma Detox for Illness Prevention
According to Ayurveda, accumulated toxins, or ama, is the root cause of illness and a number of ailments that afflict us, including life-threatening ones. Panchakarma constitutes the foremost purification and rejuvenation treatment in Ayurvedic treatment therapy because it reverses the mechanisms that carry toxic waste products from the digestive tract into all the other tissues of the body. In other words, it reverses the movement of ama, bringing it back to the digestive tract, and then gently expels it from the body.
