With the dreary wet weather and dark evenings now ‘gracing’ us with their presence, it’s probably safe to say the summer is well and truly over. On the plus side, this means we can thankfully stop holding our stomachs in and say hello once again to our more forgiving winter wardrobes. On the down side, though, it means the days feel shorter and the nights feel, well… like a countdown to Christmas! If you’re one of the lucky ones who is able to muster up motivation regardless, and doesn’t need the threat of the television cables being cut to make you leave the house on a winter’s evening, then we.
Ayurvedic retreats are something that we here at Ayurveda Retreat in Reading would love to be able to offer our clients ourselves, but due to location and limited space it’s unfortunately not something that we can physically do. We have, however, stumbled across a fabulous Ayurvedic spa retreat just outside of Malvern that offers Ayurveda, Ayurveda and more Ayurveda! Located within some beautiful grounds and amidst a backdrop of hills, The Clover Mill in Worcestershire is a little piece of heaven bundled up into one big Ayurvedic ball of loveliness. Only two hours from Reading but still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town life to warrant.
Oh how we love the rare British sunshine; so sporadically does it grace us with its presence that when it does, we soak up (quite literally) every bit of it we can. Of course, there are many that wish the sun would shine all year round; wrapping us up tight in its warmth and feel-good factor. There is, however, one huge downside to the arrival of the sunshine… the baring of skin that accompanies it. This dread, I recognise, is largely one for the female population; the ones who, unlike men, don’t want to just cover their fears under a baggy t-shirt and can’t hide their pasty, winter dried-out legs.
Ok, so there are only a couple of days to go before Father’s Day and you still haven’t managed to get yourself in gear and sort a present for dad. Problem is, you can’t for the life of you think what to get him. A tie used to be the fail-safe option but he’s now retired so that’s pointless. Wine would be a great option if he hadn’t just taken advantage of Waitrose’s latest offer. A CD would be perfect if you hadn’t just given him one for his birthday, which sadly leaves…not a lot of options. Humph. There is, of course, the possibility of just cooking him a meal.
